What Is Hot Oil Flushing?

Hot oil flushing is a critical pre-commissioning and maintenance process for hydraulic systems, lube oil circuits, and precision machinery. Contaminants—welding slag, mill scale, rust, construction debris, and degraded oil—cause valve sticking, pump failure, bearing damage, and unplanned downtime.
Hot oil flushing circulates heated oil through a system to remove all traces of particulate contamination from internal piping surfaces. The heated oil reduces viscosity, improves particle suspension, and enhances contaminant removal.
